The Give It A Girl album is a collection of songs from the artists who performed at the Give It A Girl shows in Auckland in 2009.
The compilation stems from a series of radio documentaries on New Zealand Women Rock performers made by Debbie Harwood.Inspired by the documentaries Debbie Harwood set about organising live shows and an accompanying cd release featuring work by the artists.
The cd brings together songs from some of New Zealand's most beloved iconic local female singers including Shona Laing,Sharon O’Neill, Annie Crummer, Debbie Harwood as well as relative newcomers Julia Deans (Fur Patrol) and Lisa Crawley.
