Some Were Meant for Sea was recorded in the wildernesses of South Gippsland, Australia by J Walker (CW Stoneking, Holly Throsby, Machine Translations).Cello (bowed and also de-tuned & plucked as a double bass), violin, percussion, piano & accordion were added to the otherwise bare-boned songs, which were all recorded entirely live, with guitar and vocals laid simultaneously.
Early 2011 saw Tiny Ruins playing shows in Australia supporting acts such as Beach House, Joanna Newsom, Wildbirds & Peacedrums, Holly Throsby & The Hello Tigers, The Middle East, Sonny & The Sunsets, Olof Arnalds and Grand Salvo.
